Google Analytics

📈 You can use Google Analytics to track your project's traffic and page views!‌

📈Create a Google Analytics Property

  1. If it's the first time you associate a website with Google Analytics, click on Sign Up, either click on Sign in.

  2. If you have other websites associated with this Google Analytics account, click admin, and in the account column, click the existing account name and select create a new account.

  3. Use your project information to fill out the account options. For example, if you're creating an account for your company, Acme, you'd enter the following:

    • Account Name: Acme

    • Website Name: Acme GitBook

    • Website URL: <GitBook Project URL>

➡ Set the remaining options according to your preferences.

  4. Click Get Tracking ID and accept the Terms and Conditions.

  5. Copy and add the tracking ID to your project as described below.👇

Please note, we don't offer support for G- measurement IDs temporarily. That's the default ID in Google Analytics 4. We want to offer support soon, but we need to overcome a few security concerns first. For the time being, please read how to use the old UA- tracking IDs below. 👇

In Google Analytics 4 it is still possible to create a property that offers a UA- tracking ID, by choosing to create a Universal Analytics property:
