GitBook's permissions can be managed at an organization, collection, and space level. This means that you set defaults and then, at any level of content, decide whether to inherit those defaults or not.
By default, user permissions in GitBook are set at the organization level and inherited from the organization to the collection and/or space.
A user who is an editor at an organizational level can be upgraded to a creator or even an admin at a space level to allow them greater control over selected content.
Navigate to your Organization settings by clicking the button on the bottom left of your sidebar.
Find the user whose space access you want to change by clicking on Members and selecting the user from the list.
To access the user's space permissions, please click the access button and select spaces next to their name.
Choose the space where you wish to adjust member permissions, and you'll be redirected to it.
Once in the space, click Share and select Invite Members. From there, you can manage each member's space permissions.
Click the dropdown next to the member's name to view their list of permissions.
