In GitBook, there isn't a concept of ownership - as long as you or whoever you want to transfer ownership to is an admin, you should be able to perform all the same actions as the owner.

If you prefer a single user to be in charge of the billing and team member management, we recommend downgrading other users to Creator permission or below.

Alternatively, the admin, who should remain the owner, can remove other users entirely, blocking their access to collaboration and editing features. ​
