We welcome applications from organizations that hold a valid charitable status 501(c) or similar as well as open-source applications with a GitHub related project.
All eligible organizations must fill in the form available on our pricing page in the web widget. Weâll review your application and apply the discount if you are entitled.
ââ Your organization must not be any of the following:
A religious organization (inc. church or promoting a specific religious affiliation as part of its mission)
A government office
A school, college, university or affiliated
A political organization
A private foundation
ââ Your organization also won't do any of the following:
Promoting discrimination of any kind, on the basis of the gender (identity or expression), race, ethnicity, political or religious opinion, sexual orientation, etc...
Promote a dogma, religious position or dogma as part of your activity
In order to apply for the open-source / non-profit discount, you need to have a GitBook account and create an organization by starting a free trial. If you already have an account and have created an organization, you can go directly to point 4.

Create a space using the prompt
Once you're in your space, create an organization by starting a trial
Go to the pricing page on Gitbook.com
Click on "Apply" on the Open source and non profit section
Follow the instruction in the chatbot
You might be required to provide additional information for us to validate your organization type:
open-source: link to your GitHub repo
non-profit: proof of your non-profit status (Such as a copy of your 501(c)(3) or your country's equivalent proof of non-profit status)
