Set a custom domain

Learn how to set a custom domain for your GitBook organization, collection, or space.

By default, your spaces and collections are accessible on a [subdomain].gitbook.io domain. However, you can customize this by setting a custom domain, meaning your audience will be able to access your documentation on a domain that makes sense for your organization.

If you have any trouble while following the steps in this section, please first review our troubleshooting information, and then contact support if you’re still not sure what to do next.

Permissions

Custom domains can be set at the organization level by users with admin rights, and can be set at the collection or space level by users with creator or admin rights.
