How to apply for the discount

In order to apply for the open-source / non-profit discount, you need to have a GitBook account and create an organisation by starting a free trial. If you already have an account and have created an organization, you can go directly to point 4. Otherwise, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Signup for GitBook here

  2. Create a space using the prompt

  3. Once you're in your space, create an organization by starting a trial

  4. Go to the pricing page on

  5. Click on "Apply" on the Open source and non profit section

  6. Follow the instruction in the chatbot

You might be required to provide additional information for us to validate your organisation type:


  • Link to your GitHub repo


  • Proof of your non-profit status (Such as a copy of your 501(c)(3) or your country's equivalent proof of non-profit status)

We will respond to your query as soon as possible - please allow up to 48h to for us to review your status and update your account.
